Brazilian telecommunications company Oi wanted to share the spirit of Christmas, so they set up a ‘magic’ pay phone that lets children speak to ‘Santa Claus’.
During the conversation, retired actors on the other end of the line get to watch the children via a video monitor—creating real-life conversations instead of using automated scripts.
Other surprises also awaited the children as they spoke to ‘Santa’ –gifts would appear behind them, a winter wonderland projection would be put on display and elves—together with a children’s choir—would emerge to sing Christmas carols.
