Designer Crafts Hotel Suite Entirely Out Of Ice

Every year, the world’s largest hotel made of ice and snow ICEHOTEL selects artists and designers to construct a suite in November and December.

Netherlands-based multidisciplinary designer Wouter Biegelaar was asked to craft the latest suite.

In ‘Iceberg Suite 315’, Biegelaar carved every element of the room from ice—from the walls, making them look upholstered, to the functional minimalist furniture—to create a ‘cool’ (pun intended) place to sojourn.

“The main object in the suite is one piece of furniture where you can lounge, sit and sleep,” Biegelaar told designboom about his concept for the suite.

“The walls look like they are upholstered like a chesterfield couch. An iceberg in a soft environment—emphasizing the characteristics of the two materials where snow is soft and easy to form and ice being hard and ‘sharp’.”

Is this the ‘coolest’ room ever?
