New Zealand sculptor Neil Dawsonhas made a 3D sculpture that actually creates a 2D illusion.
Called ‘Horizons’, the sculpture is an enormous ‘paper doodle’ that sits on top of New Zealand’s Gibbs Farm.
The illusion becomes apparent when you look at it from the bottom of the hill—and when the viewer moves closer to the sculpture, it will unveil its 3D welded steel parts.
As the structure sits on top of the hill, the sky behind it becomes the content of the ‘doodled paper’.
The surroundings of the sculpture also give a sense of modification with seasonal changes to the entire picture, making it like an interactive installation.
