Green technology company Pavegenhas developed a new sidewalk concept that harnesses kinetic energy from our footsteps and converts it into electricity.
The energy collected can be used for a variety of purposes—such as lighting, charging devices, or powering interactive displays.
The company has recently launched a Kickstarter initiative by installing the special ‘Pavegen tiles’ in schools in the US and UK.
If Pavegen manages to reach its target goal, the schools will receive a fully funded four-tile installation—complete with interactive renewable energy displays that show students how the Pavegen tiles work.
