Street Artist Turns Ordinary Urban Infrastructures Into Humorous Art

St Etienne-based French street artist OakOak—who works as a “pen-pusher” at his day job—uses stencils, paint and the occasional adhesive sticker to turn city infrastructures into humorous art.

Making use of cracks on the sidewalks and walls, abandoned concrete bricks and sewer covers, he is able to create imaginative stories featuring superheroes, cartoon characters and even Edvard Munch’s “The Scream”.

By adding drawings and details strategically, the urban landscape gets transformed into a fantastical wonderland—one never knows what one would find around the next corner.
