London-based design student Jagjit Chodha has designed a fruit bowl that detects mold, and gives a visual cue to whether the fruit is safe to eat.
This clever invention changes color when the fruit is about to become moldy. The bowl works by a special sensor that tracks a spike in the levels of ethylene, which is released as fruit matures.
Chodha’s fruit bowl is a part of the annual Made In Brunel Show at London’s Brunel University.
