A Map Of Europe That Shows The Word For ‘Beer’ In Each Country

Artist and font-maker Feòrag NicBhrìde has created a map of Europe that will come in very handy for beer-lovers who are traveling through the continent.

Instead of its name, each country shown on the map is marked by the word for “beer” in the local language—for instance, Germany is identified as “Bier” and the Czech Republic is known as “Pivo” on this map.

Named “The Essential Map of Europe and Environs”, NicBhrìde describes this piece as “a map showing everything you need to know about Europe”.

While this will indeed make ordering a beer easier in some parts of Europe, pronouncing some of these foreign words for beer correctly would still be challenging.

If you are planning a trip to Europe—and intend to drink beer while on it—we suggest you print out this map and bring it with you.
