Artist Julien Breton and photographer David Gallard work together to produce elegant, long exposure shots of Arabic calligraphy.

With Gallard behind the camera tinkering with the exposure, Breton is able to create his calligraphic creations with light sticks.

Through his work, Breton aims to create a “semantic bridge between Arabian and Western culture”, hoping that his artworks will create a “universal language” which will transcend words.

Breton hopes to synthesize Arab culture and Western techniques, creating a new mode of understanding between both the East and West.
