When art director Lauren Fahey moved to San Francisco, she was nervous about getting a roommate as her search seemed to be leading nowhere.
Using her creativity, she made a “Roommate Ad” which looked just like a movie poster, posting it on Twitter and Craigslist.
This amusing ad is made up of testimonials of previous roommates, listing out Fahey’s good qualities, with about 100 offers coming in after she put out the ad.
Fahey is now rooming with two girls for one and a half weeks, with them welcoming her with a “snazzy sign”.
The art director recommends this approach, describing the market as “difficult”, saying that you have to do “something like this to even get anywhere.”
Can you think of any other unconventional ways to get a roommate?
