The Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine wanted dog-owners to keep their dogs off the cathedral’s lawn, and they employed multidisciplinary design firm Pentagram to help them do this politely and in a churchly manner.
Together with their partner Michael Bierut, Pentagram created a set of awesome signs that feature quotes like “Thou Shalt Not Poop” and “Hold Close Thy Loved”.
“The signs use the identity we designed for the institution, which employs the custom font Divine, a redrawn version of Frederic Goudy’s 1928 Blackletter,” commented the firm.
