Pinterest’s new 45,000-square-foot headquarters is located in a renovated brick warehouse in San Francisco’s SoMA neighborhood.
Reflecting its history, the two-story building features a sparsely decorated, industrial-style interior that is designed to enable employees to work in a way that they are most comfortable with, whether it is at a communal work desk or alone in a nook.
The highlights of the open-concept office are four glass-clad meeting rooms that are created to foster community among the workers and provide them with conducive spaces for both brain-storming and bonding.
Unexpectedly, this office has been deliberately left unfinished—according to Pinterest’s co-founder Evan Sharp, they “wanted the design of the office to be flexible enough that the design would be able to adapt as the company changes over time”.
