Malaysian graphic designer Tang Chiew Ling, whose work we have previously featured, has a new project titled ‘Harmless War’ in which she illustrates scenes of war with everyday objects.
Tang imagines a world of non-violence through her use of materials that evoke childhood and innocence to juxtapose against the cruelty of war. In her depictions, fighter jets drop leaves instead of bombs, guns fire leaves instead of bullets, and spray cans spew multi-colored sweets instead of tear gas.
