After Mackenzie Prather’s boyfriend broke up with her via text message, she turned her heartbreak into inspiration by designing a line of products designed to get over terrible exes.
For her senior design thesis, she created a fictitious company, “Flourish”, designing and color-coding her products with “unapologetic boldness” to help jilted souls regain their confidence—after all, “being fabulous is the best revenge”.
These break up kits come in four colors, and users choose them based on the stages of heartbreak—the blue kit is designed to help with grief, which even includes a lighter so that the jilted can burn all the presents and other physical remnants of the failed relationship.
The orange and pink break up kits are for empowering nights out and quiet nights in respectively, and are packed with mix tapes that will play anthems to chase away any lingering anger and self-pity.
The last kit, which comes in red, is called "You Got Single, Now Mingle", equipping the user with essentials—like condoms—so that she can get back in the dating game.
It is apparent that a lot of thought has been put into this kit—amusing slogans like “Chocolate will not cheat on you” will are meant to cheer up anyone who has just gotten dumped.
What do you think—are these helpful for getting over a failed relationship?
