American artist and sculptor Mary Sunderland creates wonderful art carvings on gourds that have a lovely folk art vibe about them.
Her carvings are mostly of flowers, animals, and nature scenes, and feature amazingly intricate details.
According to Sunderland, “The gourd is a wonderful product of Nature and has been used by ancient cultures all around the world for bowls, musical instruments, water containers, baskets, dippers, and ornaments of art.”
