Famous Iconic Paintings Superimposed On The War-Torn Landscape Of Syria

The Kiss, by Gustav Klimt

Syrian artist Tammam Azzam has superimposed famous works of art onto the devastated landscape of Syria.

Using this unlikely background as a canvas, Azzam combines humans' propensity to create and destroy, perhaps suggesting that Mankind is unaware of his ability to change the world—for better or for worse.

The artist first posted his re-make of Klimt's work of art on Facebook last year—his “Freedom Graffiti” has since gone viral and continues to be shared on the internet.
