A Gritty Typeface Inspired By Overhead Power Cables

British design studio Studio Disjointed has created a gritty typeface called ‘Cable Thief’ that is inspired by the overhead power cables of the rail network in the UK.

The design is interesting in that it references the widespread problem of cable theft, a common occurrence in the UK that impacts the rail network and its commuters. The dilapidated font features cables and pulleys holding it together to prevent it from collapsing.
