Montreal-based cuisine company Phood Station has come up with a fun toothpick with complementary flavors to soothe our tastebuds.
David Desjardins noticed that the toothpick is “making a comeback”, and wanted to make it a lot more fun. He observed that many toothpicks were imbued with artificial flavors and sought to do something different with his product, the Castor Double Flavored Toothpick.
Desjardins and his team did a lot of research on food, choosing the complementary flavors that would go together well. Each flavour was locally sourced by experts, and there was a lot of testing to make sure that one flavor did not overpower another.
Some of these combinations on offer include Habanero and Honey, Basil and Strawberry, as well as Raspberry and Wasabi. Many of these flavors can be served with cocktails or different types of dishes.
The company has raised more than enough funds on Kickstarter—we can’t wait till this product hits the shelves.
