Fascinating Close-Up Photographs Of Wild Animals’ Skin And Fur

Reticulated giraffe

After feeling intrigued while viewing a photo of an elephant’s abdomen that was taken in a zoo, photographer Yusuke Sakai explored other animals to study its beautiful exterior of skin, feathers, and fur.

In the ongoing project ‘Skin’, Sakai featured lovely close-up photos of various animals’ skin, such as the rough and wrinkled exterior of the African elephant, and the emu’s beautifully arranged feathers.

Interestingly, his photos do not feature the whole animal, leaving you to wonder about its origin.
