Photographer Greg Ruffing explored the yard sales across America to capture its atmosphere and fascinating sights for his project, ‘Yard Sales’.
According to Feature Shoot, Ruffing started his project to show how yard sales can encourage “social connections and feelings of neighborliness and community”.
His photos captured peculiar sights like a handwritten sign that asked prospective buyers to “make an offer on anything”, and shoppers scrutinizing and trying on the sale items.
Besides featuring common yard sale items like framed paintings, used furniture, and old clothes in his work, Ruffing also photographed strange items like a massive completed jigsaw puzzle of an eagle, and an old disco ball with missing tiles—would you bring these home with you?
