Brand & Identity: Caffeine Lovenest by Inksurge

Today’s inspiration comes from Inksurge – a design studio created by digital baristas and authentic coffee junkies Jois Tai and Rex Advincula of the Phillippines.

Wanting to unite purveyors of fine coffee together, Toby Smith of Toby’s Estate fame in Australia approached Inksurge for a signature brand experience for the first ever Toby’s Estate outlet in the Philippines.

Being coffee enthusiasts themselves, Inksurge took a black and white minimalist approach with a drip of sophistication for the graphics and signage of the café.

Daily Freebie: OFF! An Amazing Versatile Font

Today’s daily freebie is a display font face titled OFF! by Rendra Diardjo of Indonesia. I’m a big fan of typography and can tell that he’s put in a lot of mouse time creating it.

This strong and bold character font type is perfect for posters, web, textual headlines and much more, and is versatile for projects related to fashion, indie stuff, extreme sports, sci-fi movies for an edgy personality. The font itself was inspired by the Santa Cruz brand logo.

Featured Work: Intricate Adventures by Anastasia

Today’s featured work comes from a student named Anastasia or Krapiva (from her Behance profile), from the Russian Federation.

Anastasia’s illustrations are stories of her life and has captured my appreciation for detail and intricate drawings. Like any great designer, she manages to capture her thoughts and experiences on paper in a unique and refreshing style. Only a student, we’re sure that Anastasia has a long and bring future ahead of her.

Featured Work: The Tiger of Legends by Jesús Rodríguez

Today’s featured work comes from freelance designer Jesús Rodríguez of Lima, Peru. He’s brought us a roaring cool typographic illustration technique.

As a research project with the zoo of Peru, Jesús wanted to tell the story of the new tiger additions. He wanted to use the word ‘tiger’ to compose the entire image, along with using colors that represents this animal. Check out Jesús’ uses of large and small font sizes in the magazine.
