Daily Freebie: Material Design Widgets Ui Kit (PSD)

Today’s daily freebie comes from User Interface designer Elad Izak. As his first shot on Dribbble, his gorgeous widgets kit will definitely come in handy for a lot of designers.

Material design aims to optimize cross-device usage which gracefully degrades in older browsers. It also offers an experience that is intuitive and immediately accessible.

The kit comes complete with UI for calendars, music players, todo lists, calculator, even flight charts. Beautifully put together, you can download the PSD after the jump!

Top 25 Nouns & Verbs Turned into Clever Minimalist Typographic Logos

Today’s featured work is a personal endeavour by creative director, Lucas Gil-Turner. He’s picked the top 25 nouns and verbs that’s most used in the English language to feature in this logo project.

Each word, illustrated in black and while, has been cleverly converted into a typographic logo, representative of its meaning. This logo collection is a great example of the importance of design and its role in communication.

There’s never a proper time to get hitched. Once you do, it’s forever, until something happens. But let’s be hopeful today and celebrate the joining of man and woman (or whichever you prefer)

Featured Work: The World’s Smallest Portfolio by Michael Lester

Today’s featured work comes from Michael Lester, a freelance designer and illustrator based in London. He’s showcasing his tiny portfolio that evidently has made some big waves.

“As part of a brief set by jelly London for the D&AD New Blood Festival, I was asked to get people talking about myself and my work. Before trying to achieve that, I wanted to ask a deeper question – What was it about my work that I wanted people to talk about?”

With this in mind, Michael said that he wanted to communicate that he was an ideas-driven visual communicator and decided to shrink his portfolio- both in size and content reducing with each work having one image and one sentence.

The result is a cool little portfolio of visuals filled with some of Michael’s old and new work and everything in between.

The whole thing was documented and tiny packages were sent off to some of Michael’s favourite agencies, complete with mini hand-signed magnifying cards.

Featured Work: Brand Identity for The Secret Donut Society

Today’s daily inspiration comes from Jose Velazquez and Ceci Peralta of Mexico. They’ve brought to us a cool brand concept with an enigmatic feel around it.

From the fellas:

“We developed the full concept, naming and branding for an underground donut shop in San Pedro Garza Garcia, Mexico. We immediately fell in love with their donuts and knew we had to create something very special around the concept. We decided to keep their underground essence, by turning it into a Secret Society. Inspired by secret societies, masonic logics, and the Illuminati Order we created a playful yet mysterious graphic language.”
