Today’s featured work comes from Puerto Rican illustrator and cartoonist Goni Montes. With a splash of color and detailed strokes, Montes introduces a different side of Robocop.

In this set of Robocop covers he’s created with Alex Galer and Ian Brill from BOOM! Studios, Goni tries to show a side of the 80s icon that we have never seen before.

Strong with his metal armor and enhanced capabilities, Robocop stands at the top of the justice system. However, having a human body filled with emotional memories as base makes him more than just a single-minded puppet for the powerful people lurking in the shadows.

Today’s featured work comes from Cosmic Nugget, a quirkily original artist hailing from Scotland. They say everyone wears a mask; Cosmic Nugget gives us a glimpse of what those masks might look like.

There are a lot of things in this world that we can never explain. As an illustrator, Cosmic Nuggets conveys those feelings of not knowing, of thinking that there are far greater things in the universe that we have yet to connect with and comprehend.

Those feelings are turned into an array of signs and symbols superimposed over the faces of some of the world’s influential people in “m a s k z.” While the actual people have become unrecognizable, they have attained a surreal impression that fits the artist’s ideals and favored theme.

Featured Designer: Magnificent Image Looper Mathew Lucas

Today’s featured designer is Mathew Lucas, an English artist who has apparently perfected the art of creating mesmerizing visuals through looping elements and designs.

Setting himself apart in the highly-populated art industry, Mathew utilizes repeating patterns and motions to produce hypnotic rhythms in most of his works. He doesn’t reveal much about himself and instead lets his designs speak for him. And speak volumes, they do.

Lucas’s choice of bold colors makes his work stand out. When dealing with monochromatic color schemes, he implements seemingly endless lines and recurring shapes that give his designs life and a sense of harmony. The end results are bewitching and a delight to see.
