Toronto-based artist Alana McCarthy brings two things we love together: cats and superheroes.
As part of her painted series ‘Geeky Pets’, cats get illustrated in costumes to look like characters from comics, movies and TV shows—such as The Avengers, Jabba the Hut, Spider-Man, Superman, Wonder Woman, Luke Skywalker and Batman.
“I created the cat paintings as a funny side project to my more serious illustration work,” she said. “I’m a cat person and think it’s hilarious to try to capture the disdainful looks of cats forced into costumes.”
