Early Advertising Artworks By Dr. Seuss

Early Advertising Artworks By Dr. Seuss

Illustration

Did you know that Theodor Seuss Geisel (aka Dr. Seuss) was an advertising illustrator for magazines before he found fame as a children’s book author?

In a website titled ‘The Advertising Artwork of Dr. Seuss’ by the University of California, San Diego, it contains a trove of early advertising works illustrated by Dr. Seuss for major companies such as Ford, NBC and ESSO.

Most of his early advertising works already feature his signature style of drawing—as well as a few of his beloved characters from his books.

We have selected a few illustrations for your viewing pleasure.
