Working from Brussels and Shanghai, artist Heidi Voet has created one-of-a-kind carpet that is made out of 4,000 colorful digital watches.
Measuring 310 x 660 centimeters, the carpet features a striking geometric print and is assembled by fastening the straps of the watches together.
Designed to chime in unison throughout the day, the many watches will inevitably malfunction at different times, resulting in them chiming out of sync—this reflects the artist’s idea that chaos will eventually ensue with the march of time.
