Wellington, New Zealand-based design studio Atelier Workshop have up-cycled a used container, and attached solar and wind equipment to it, so that it opens up to become a holiday home.
Called ‘Port-a-Bach’, the prototype holiday home is portable, eco-friendly, comparatively inexpensive, and comfortably sleeps two adults and two children.
It has a fully-enclosed exterior steel shell and includes toilet, kitchen and storage facilities, a double bedroom, and an open living space that includes bunk beds.
The home container also opens up to include a sheltered deck area.
