Amazing Pictures Of A Russian City Buried Under 10 Feet Of Snow

In Russia, the polar circle city of Norilsk was buried under 10 feet of snow after experiencing the most extreme snowstorms since 1938—entire vehicles, buildings and streets were swallowed up by the heavy snow.

Russian news website RT.com reports that “the unrelenting snowfall has caused unprecedented chaos in Russia”—remote settlements and towns like Norilsk took the blunt of the bad weather, with some being completely isolated and in need of rescue.

Documenting this historical winter in pictures, Russian photography website Big Picture has published a series of amazing images that shows the incredibly harsh conditions in Norilsk last week.
