Brooklyn-based artist Matthew Porter has created an intriguing collection of photographs that depicts mythical “flying” vintage cars.
These gravity-defying retro automobiles are actually realistic miniatures—the artist dangles these toy cars from a mechanical arm and carefully shoots them in ideal lighting, before fusing these images with a photograph of a streetscape.
Inspired by classic car chase scenes from television shows and films of the ‘60s and ‘70s, most of these pictures are produced in limited editions of five—they are so popular that they usually sell out immediately.
