In Collaborative Project, Designers Create 50 New Logos For The Rolling Stones

Andy Smith

The Fifty New Logos Project’ is a collaborative project by Esteban Franco and Alvaro Sotomayor, in which they invite 50 designers to create 50 different logos for The Rolling Stones’ 50th anniversary.

The brief was simple: design and re-interpret the iconic tongue and lips trademark for the band.

“2012 is Rolling Stones’ 50th Anniversary,” wrote the organizers on their website. “And we realized, WOW! 50 years of making history with the best Rock & Roll, 50 years giving us great moments and unforgettable live concerts, but also 50 years with the same logo!”

“So, why don’t we give them 50 new logos for their 50th anniversary? This is a project for the best designers in The World to make 50 new logos for The Rolling Stones.”

“No brands behind. Nonprofit. Just a birthday present from The World of Design to The Rolling Stones.”
