Artist William Lamson has created a sweet—pun intended—house that would not look out of place in a fairytale.
Part greenhouse, part meditation retreat, the “Solarium” is gorgeous see-through structure put together with panes that have the visual quality of stain glass.
In fact, these panes are made of caramelized sugar sandwiched between two pieces of glass—the sugar is heated at different temperatures to produce various shades, ranging from yellow to brown.
The result is an ethereal, glowing house on a hill—a home for citrus plants, the Solarium’s four sides can be opened during summer to let in fresh air.
