Impressive Giant Flower Sculptures From The Zundert’s Annual Flower Parade

The inhabitants of Zundert, the South of Netherlands, are crazy about their flowers–Dahlias, to be specific.

The flower parade came into being in 1936, sparking a passion for building floats sculpted with flowers that has not died down ever since.

The art of float designing is serious business—the youth of Zundert are educated in this skill at the Art Academy, and dahlia fields in the town are grown solely for the flower parade.

At Corso Zundert every year, different districts engage in 'heated competition' to build the most original and complex float.

This year, the mammoth-sized floats were as intricately designed as could be, complete with moving parts and crazy dimensions.
