Created by 3GATTI, a Shanghai and Rome-based studio, this “Bubble Building” was designed to keep germs out of the office.
A cloud-like exterior was attached to the building’s unattractive façade, and it is made up of an antibacterial nylon that inflates—or deflates—depending on the number of people in it.
The space between the former building and its billowing exterior also traps air to insulate the building, with plants peppering the window sills to keep temperatures constant.
Although 3GATTI achieved its goal of creating a recognizable building, there is not much of a view for the workers inside this “bubble office”.
Would you like to work in such an office?
