Footwear brand United Nude has created the avant-garde “Float” shoes that are designed to be produced by the compact Cube 3D printer—these striking platform shoes are fashionably heelless.
While they are not likely to be mass produced any time soon, it does make one think about a future, as described by Design Milk, where buying shoes would be a process of browsing, downloading and printing.
The Float consists of three individual parts that are then interlocked together to form the shoe—according to Rem D Koolhaas, co-founder of United Nude, “this design is about creating something beautiful & interesting and it’s about experimenting, moving forward and about learning”.
