Designed by Melbourne-based architecture firm Andrew Maynard Architects, the world’s first inside-out house is a structure that was deliberately built to be incomplete.
The firm built the unusual dwelling, quirkily named ‘Cut Paw Paw’, at the request of a client who wanted it to look “ridiculously inside-out”.
To construct the house, the firm used sliding walls and bifold doors and decks, and left parts of the building unfinished. The garden spills into the living room while the internal floorboards extend to the outdoors, creating a surreal illusion that blurs the lines between the interior and exterior.
