The crowdfunding site Catapult has come up with a series of posters that draw attention to women’s rights issues in today’s world.
This visual campaign was rolled out specially for International Women’s Day, which falls on 8 March every year. Titled “The Cover Stories”, each title alludes to famous women's magazines—“Child Bride” and “Good Slavekeeping” are some examples.
Each cover also mimics the way sensational headlines are written to shed light on these human rights issues—one headline talks about “innovative punishments” that really work, and another is about using make-up to hide bruises.
“We really want people to get fired up and take action to make a difference in the world,” stated Maz Kessler, the founder and Creative Director of Catapult.
These posters are displayed on Catapult’s website, along with three fun facts. A button that reads “Do Something About It” urges viewers to contribute.
