Photographer Captures Intimate Portraits Of Toy Workers In China

Hong Kong-based German photographer Michael Wolf—who previously introduced us to ‘Tokyo Compression’—is back with another thought-provoking photo series.

In his new series titled ‘The Real Toy Story’, Wolf captures portraits of toy workers in China holding up different toy parts, or diligently assembling them to be shipped overseas.

According to My Modern Met, about 75% of the world’s toys are “Made in China”, and this project “gives a whole new perspective to those dolls and action figures consumers purchase at any given store by revealing the countless Chinese factory workers slaving away in stuffy environments to construct piles of plastic toys”.
