Have A Beer In One Of The World’s Oldest Trees

Located near Modjadjiskloof, South Africa, the Sunland “Big Baobab” tree is also a pub.

Incredibly large, with a circumference of over 108-feet, this tree has two hollow trunks which are connected together—a natural phenomenon that occurs to Baobabs over 1,000-years-old.

Opened in 1933, the interior accommodates 15 people, and houses some historical trinkets which also chronicle the history of the “tree-pub”.

Owned by the Van Heerden family, the exterior of the pub doubles as a restaurant, also provides shade for guests.

As for the tree’s true age, carbon-dating estimates that it’s about 6,000-years-old.
