The Beautiful Structures Competing For This Year’s ‘Building Of The Year’

Every year, the World Architecture Festival gathers more than 1,600 architects from 60 countries—for 2013, it would be held at Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands, which was once a WAF winner.

Consisting of 29 categories in all, this world’s largest architecture festival has shortlisted 300 projects from 50 countries, which would be judged by a panel in October—while each category would have their own winner, only one building will win the coveted “World Building of the Year” award.

In anticipation of this exciting event for the architecture community, Business Insider has showcased a selection of the official 2013 shortlist that features outstanding structures from all over the globe.
