London-based studio Platform 5 Architects redesigned a home so that it could house an extensive collection of books.
Called ‘Book Tower House’, the home was given a wooden staircase at the heart of the house, with walls that double as bookcases.
The staircase, wrapped in oak bookshelves, leads up to a built-in desk and study space with a view out the window and over the ground floor.
An extension was also given to the kitchen at the back of the house.
On top of accommodating a new dining area with exposed brick wall, a cosy seating area at the corner with books was also added—a space where occupants can feel surrounded by the garden while reading.
