Buenos Aires-based Argentinian luthier Ezequiel Galasso and pro skateboarder Gianfranco de Gennaro Gilmour have collaborated to breathe new life into old, thrashed skateboards.
Instead of throwing away the beaten up skateboard decks, the duo repurposed them into guitars—keeping all the scratches and dents.
Branded ‘Galasso Guitars’, the handmade thin-bodied guitars are each made from the remains of at least two reclaimed skateboards.
Both the body and neck of the musical instruments are constructed with layered maple, and are equipped with other hardware—such as volume knobs, humbucking pickups, and whammy bars.
