Infographic Tells-All: How Are Advertisements Really Perceived?

The folks at Lab42, a market research company, looked into how consumers really view advertising claims and created an easy-to-understand infographic that reveals interesting things about consumer's psyche.

Significantly, it was found that “only 3%” would describe claims in ads as “very accurate,” and “only 21%” would describe ads as “somewhat accurate.”

As much as we think that Photoshop can deceive, it was found that consumers are very much aware that Photoshop is an “element of advertising deception.”

Other interesting points of their research include insights into ‘how men and women are portrayed in ads’, in general and, what aspects of an ad can make more of a lasting impression.
