Jewelry designer Hollie Paxton has put together a collection jewelry that resembles 'rubbish'.
From discarded chewing gum wrappers to convenience store receipts—her creations "challenge" our preconceived notions of what can be considered 'precious'.
Objects resembling worthless items are in fact made out of precious materials welded to shape via a labor-intensive process of 'enameling', thereby transforming "everyday rubbish into something of value."
According to Paxton, her collection "intends to comment on the throwaway culture that’s prevalent in Western society, challenging both the viewer and the wearer to question their relationship with societies gluttonous excess and waste."
What's your take on these valuable pieces of 'rubbish'?
