In Romania, literally the ‘coolest’ supermarket on earth has opened—it’s the world’s first supermarket made completely out of ice.
Located at George Enescu Square, in downtown Bucharest, the ice-cold pop-up supermarket is Romanian supermarket chain Profi Romania’s latest outlet that lets visitors pick up their regular groceries.
It weighs 80 tons, spans 150-square meters, and everything about it was sculpted out of transparent blocks of ice—from its shelves to its walls, and even its promotional displays where wine bottles and can drinks were frozen in ice.
To keep the shop from melting, the temperature of the outlet was maintained at less than five-degrees Celsius.
For those who like to ‘chill’, Profi Romania’s ice-made supermarket will be opened till Christmas eve for you to pay a visit.
