TIME Magazine has just released a controversial cover photo of the Boston Marathon bombing that has drawn criticism from the internet.
Published under the headline ‘Tragedy in Boston’, the cover photo features a close-up shot of a terrified young boy with blood on the side of his head.
According to Yahoo, people on Twitter have reacted with comments such as “heartbreaking,” or “unbelievable and moving”, but there were others that weren’t impressed.
One critic tweeted, “Digusting. Giving the bad guys what they want. Idiots,” while another wrote “Media taking it too far”.
Another person gave a more cynical account, “Let’s all thank the media…whose ratings go sky high with tragedy…do they really care or is it just $$ to them”.
What do you think? Is the cover photo good journalism or has TIME magazine gone too far?
