Vintage Luggage Tags Reveal Graphic Design Trends From The 1920s

Pop culture website Buzzfeed has collated a collection of vintage luggage tags from the 1920s to 1950s.

A luggage tag was a label given to paying customers of airlines or hotels during the first half of the 20th century.

Back in the day, travelling was a privilege reserved only for rich people. Thus, displaying a luggage tag on your briefcase was the ultimate symbol of status and a proof of the places that you have been to.

This collection of luggage tags show the interesting early ages of graphic design. From the various styles in type, imagery, and other design influences of the East and West, one can refer that there certainly was a neat and distinct method in the graphic design industry of yesteryear.
