As part of the culture in India, people eat their food with their hands.

To remind people about the importance of hygiene before tucking in, soap brand Lifebuoy teamed up with OgilvyAction Mumbai to heat-stamp messages on bread.

At the Kumbh Mela festival, 2.5 million ‘rotis’ (Indian bread) were seared with the message: “Did you wash your hands with Lifebuoy?”

The message sparked sheepish grins, and many to get up from their seats and head to the sinks to wash their hands before eating.
