London-based graphic designer Lobulo wanted to show the various ways a simple, flat letter can be transformed into a 3D tactile model—thus, his project ‘Atype’ was born.
‘Atype’ features the capital letter ‘A’ of the English alphabet becoming inspiring 3D pieces with the use of handcrafted paper art.
Though simple, like Lobulo reckoned, it looks like it takes a lot of patience to craft these letters together neatly and precisely.
For those interested in exploring handcrafted 3D paper type, Lobulo would be uploading templates and teaching how to make these at his next workshop “Make It Bigger”.
Don’t these creative pieces make you feel like making some paper craft of your own? What other forms of 3D paper typography can you come up with?
