To celebrate great American art and make them more accessible to the masses, the Outdoor Advertising Association of America has launched a cross-country project called ‘Art Everywhere US’.

Inspired by a similar initiative in the UK, the project takes outdoor advertisements and swaps them for classic American artworks that reflect the country’s history and culture.

Dubbed as the “biggest art exhibition in history”, the project features artworks belonging to five of America’s leading museums: the Art Institute of Chicago, the Dallas Museum of Art, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the National Gallery of Art, and the Whitney Museum of American Art.

A total of 58 artworks will be featured in outdoor spaces across America, and they include masterpieces by Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and Edward Hopper.
