Hello Kitty fans, this piece of information that anthropologist Christine R. Yano discovered may make you feel like your life has been a lie.
In the process of curating a Hello Kitty exhibition at the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles, Yano sent some exhibit texts to Sanrio—the company replied to correct that Hello Kitty is, in fact, not a cat.
According to Sanrio, “Hello Kitty is not a cat. She’s a cartoon character. She is a little girl. She is a friend. But she is not a cat. She’s never depicted on all fours. She walks and sits like a two-legged creature”.
Therefore, this famous character is not a human-like cat, as believed by man, but a cat-like human.
What do you think of this mind-blowing revelation?
