A “matsuri” (or festival) inspired room by Nanami Ishihara, who spent more than a month in the room creating the artwork.
For the past two years, Park Hotel Tokyo has been sponsoring artists to create artworks in its rooms during their stay.
The project titled ‘Artist in Hotel’, gives these artists the freedom to create unique artworks around the room, from painting murals on the walls to creating elaborate sculptures.
Some of the artworks includes a vibrant mural inspired by a festival in Japan, calligraphy words from poems, and a monochromatic painting of the 12 zodiac animals.
The hotel currently has eight of its rooms transformed into a living art exhibition, and will continue to expand this project to all 31 rooms on one floor of the hotel.
Would you like to stay in one of these rooms?
